Alright, so I suppose a lot of you Sonic fans are wondering, "who the heck are all these gosh darn echidnas"?!

Well, Master Emerald Chronicles is a comic series that focuses on the Archie universe; more specifically, an alternate version of the Archie universe, where Sonic's "Tossed in Space" storyline never happened, and Knuckles never died and lost his powers. It was around this point that many tend to think Archie Sonic jumped the shark (though many would rightfully argue the comic did so far before then). It was during these storylines that much of what had been built during the canceled Knuckles series and it's subsequent backstories had either been forgotten or destroyed.

MEC aims to offer an alternate take on these events, one that continues to build upon what had been built over the course of Knuckles' ongoing storyline, rather than destroy it. Chances are if you didn't like the Knuckles series, you won't like what you see here, though we do encourage you to take a look. The story primarily focuses on the Dark Legion, a group of techno-obsessed echidnas who where banished to a pocket dimension to protect the rest of echidna society, and Knuckles and his father/grandfather/great grandfathers, whom have abnormally long life spans due to their everyday exposure to the Master Emerald, thus many generations are able to exist at a time. I do believe Spectre, the oldest, is Knuckles' great-great-great grandfather.

We must warn you, there are some prevalent grammatical errors in some of the issues, but we are working on ironing them out. We hope you are able to enjoy the issues regardless.
